I have been looking into going into the military i am only sixteen but want to enlist in some form of Junior R.O.T.C. and then to join the special forces after college. what do you guys think Marines or Army

I understand being excited to join. I was excited before I went off, it is normal. But I would recommend not going to devil pups... Enjoy your summers off from school. I did mine and am very thankful I did. Some of my best memories in life come from those summers.

i totally agree with talon as far as the schools and promotions go, i just joined the future soldier program for the army, but my first choice was the marines. i did some research and found out that it's not what i thought it was. the army in general is best to go into, especially for promotions and sf... if you ever just want to chat or want to take your ASVAB PM me or somthing and i can set you up with someone to take your ASVAB or get you a cool recruiter who doesn't lie.

I don't know if you have yet but talk to someone that has already done devil pups and then gone into the Marines and ask them if the "prior experiece" w/ devil pups was anything like Marine life, I think you'll find that it isn't. Good for getting ready for boot camp is probably what it really is all about, and boot camp/ basic training (for the army) is not what it's going to be like when you do get to your unit.

You will not excel very much if your not fit, if you just sit at home and play games, your going to have a hard time. Boot camp is 3months are you ready to spend those three months?[/quote]
