I just go a smart charger that arrived today. I also have a couple of 1500mah mini 8.4v batts on the way. Right now I only have 600mah batteries and the charger says not to charge anything under 1000mah. I was wondering if the charger would get damaged if I were to go ahead and charge those 600mah batteries. Charges at 1.0A and 2.0A.

Never charge 2/3A batteries which is most likely what you have from the description you gave. Above 1.0 you will damage them. Just a word of precaution.
Charging right now at 1.0A and nothing has blown up yet. Its been about 30 minutes and the heat level is normal. I will let you guys know if it works because im sure plenty of other people will have this question too.
Charge went well and the gun works good. Couldn't test it for that long because my indoor shooting session was brought to an end by some BS complaint. :D my CA AR15a3 is pretty loud though.
