CQB City Failed again

Jun 7, 2009 4:42pm
I know that CQB City was bashed a while back. Things had changed when I went back. He had plenty of refs and started the games on time. But I went on Sat the 6th of June, Chief is back to his old ways again. There were no visible refs in red shirts at all. I even tried to look for one. Chief and all of his help were all playing in camo. To top it off his second in command (not sure what his name is) would not even call his hits. How can you run an "Honorable" place if your own crew can't even play fairly. Sorry if this makes people mad but come on. That is by far the worst place for cheating. There is cheating at every game I know this. But never so much have I seen. I will not recommend CQB City to any of my friends or anyone that asks me about places to play airsoft if they want an honorable place to play.

All of the games I played up north had this problem. The people who gear up to the teeth are the accidental cheaters due to not feeling it. We had one kid come with his dads Kevlar helmet and body armor and the only shots he felt were the ones to the legs and face. He left the game with welts all over his cheeks and legs! I don't know the rules for games here in north california but an unspoken rule of the small games I went to in Oregon is if they have a helmet and vest with more than 5 pouches aim for the legs. If you cant see the legs aim for the face. This method works well because instead of calling "OUT!" or "HIT!" they would scream "OUCH!" or "AHHH MY FACE". If they can take the pain and cheat you can call them out on it because after the game you will see welts all over lol.

I saw 2 different kinds of marker bb's at gamepod this weekend, they were not sure when they will stock them but they looked like they would work good, not paint, some kind of powder with lubricant properties, they do leave a colored mark behind so maybe an option...
Look its a bird its a plane, no its just my broken aeg flying all over the place.
Our system is pretty good. One's reputation is the most important thing here. Once one develops a reputation for being a cheater, it takes effort to overcome. Rep means a lot here and so we kind of end up being self-policing.
honor based society is not perfect, but I tend to prefer it. New comers that want to be douche bags will be douche bags weather its in the face of rules or honor....in both cases they tend to fizz out quickly. It can be hard to gain "cred" here, especially since it can be a very click based "who you know" sort of thing. I have seen both extremes....players who almost instantly gain acceptance and reputation in the community and people who have been here for years and still feel like outsiders. Like any grouping of people it comes down to how well you align with prevalent mentality of the community and how much you are willing to play ball with the power that be. Most of the people on the fringes I find prefer it there.

I realize that stopping all cheating is impossible. The marking bbs sound cool. Will have to look into it. The real point here is that it is hard to keep people from cheating if you have no visible refs. CQB City had gotten real bad a while back. When the complaints came out, Chief made some changes. So when I went back to check it out. The few times I had went after the changes it was really nice. There were 3 or 4 refs always running around in red shirts. There was always couple of times I thought there might be cheating. Cheating was cut down big time. It had been a while since I'd gone back. But now there were no refs at all. If there were, they did not have any red shirts on.

Non marked player refs are a great way to stop cheating. For a cheat not knowing when they are being watched is a huge deterrent.

i havent been there in awhile but what really makes me angry is chiefs groups of friends no matter what camo they r wearing they have to be on chiefs team......so this makes them look like they r on your team and then they shoot you in the back.
DON'T RUN YOU'LL JUST DIE TIRED!!!

Went to cqb city today and I can't say I'm impressed. The field it really cool but the way things are run is not. In 6 hours of being there we got 3 games in. Each game lasted about 45min to 1 hour, you do the math on the amount of downtime... I think for 30 dollars i should have gotten more games in. The refs are horrible, downright the worst refs I've had the misfortune of coming across. They constantly shoot people just to "even" the game out including shooting a friend in the hand from very close, instead of testing your sniper rifle out on players to even out the field just let the game end. I will not be going back unless its for a private event maybe, and i will explecitly tell people not to go there. One of my few bad airsoft expierences.
