if you've never had xbox live before... and have a wireless adaptor, or internet connected to your xbox... then yes you can... you have to set-up xbox live, but when it gets to the subscription page, select either silver only, or nothing. then it will say something like are you sure? say yes, and then it will say you qualify for a free month of xbox live gold. either that or see this page for a tutorial on it all: http://cnettv.cnet.com/quick-tips-free-xbox-live-gold/9742-1_53-29502.html

stuff that costs money is always better. . . which is why ps3 online is awful. i like the playstation and all, but xbox has online play won.

PS3=Meh. Few months after playing it found myself back on Live, PS3 found itself at Gamestop traded for a Wii

the only reason I would buy a ps3 is for the final fantasy games and metal gear games, but since FFXIII is going to be for the 360 I don't really feel the need. and 50 bucks for a year of xbox live is nothng, you spend more than that on a game. my brother bought a ps3 but after like a month hes back on live playing halo3 and halo wars.
