Is there any downside to installing a tightbore barrel? It seems like a nice upgrade that doesn't require you to upgrade anything else just to handle extra stress. Am I off my rocker?

only down side is that if you use crappy bbs they jam more. stick with what they got at aex and your fine. Only one reason you would need to upgrade anything else due to a TB barrel is if you bought one that is longer than the stock barrel for your gun. In which case you may need to get a cylinder to match the barrel length.
