so im rebuilding a gun, the spring probably has not been replaced in a long time,
Adding a sorbo pad will actually decrease fps, not increase it. You are deducting volume from the cylinder which in return lowers the amount of air that can be pushed out.

Lol of course. I love when u rethink what u said and realize how stupid it was.
that explains the pm's from him asking me if i want some candy!
If you add sorbo you will need to correct AOE. If you don't do the AOE corrections to your piston say good bye to your piston. Also you will only lose around 5 fps. Don't forget to put a protective mat on the sorbo as your PH will tear up a unprotected sorbo pad.

On the subject of cylinders is it normal for it to be able to rotate?

When the gearbox is together and your cylinder can rotate. it means your cylinder head is pretty loose. Doesn't necessarily mean you have a leak between the cylinder and cylinder head, but i would wrap some teflon tape(thread sealer) on the "o" ring. Just don't put any where the piston impacts the head, teflon tape in your barrel is no good. :)
yeah i think i've figured out that AOE is necessary, the GB im fixing right now already has that done, the pistons got some wear but its getting really good compression, i just ordered some 3/16 sorbo pads, new spring, and a o-ring nozzle.
