WW2 Shore battery
From the 1880's untill 1946 these are what protected the Golden gate and the SF bay area from enemy fleets. Danielle and I tried to go to the beach this day but ended up here becuase it was way too cold to swim. They are all north of SF if you want to check them out. Very cool.

There are some identical implacements like those in Long Beach as well. They filmed a few short scenes for Pearl Harbor and many History Channel episodes there as well.
