If WW2 was fought in the same social and political climate that we have today we would not have won... carpet bombing germany would have never been allowed. We destroyed entire german cities, leveled irreplaceable cathedrals, and there were many civilian casualties.

Bombing a city is as much about crippling infrastructure as it is about demoralizing a people.

I'm just saying it's possible to draw parallels between... bombing a city in the name of America... and bombing a city in the name of Allah.

I can see how you might be able to argue that the atomic bombs were terrorist like acts but we'd have to know if truman understood how devastating the bombs would be with fallout etc to truly compare. Terrorism is more intent than act I'd say.

They dropped those bombs to end the war and save lives not to scare a nation into surrender. The letters were dropped to tell the civilians to leave so they wouldn't be killed which sounds nothing like terrorism which kills innocent people.
