jb weld cracked gearbox?

I recently acquired another gun, a Tokyo marui AUG with a heavy Phantom kit. Which, i reluctantly traded my CA m4 socom for (which was in amazing condition inside and out >:(...).

theoretically that should work temporarily, but i would not bet anything on how long. ha

I've used JB weld for various purposes in airsoft, and I've found that while it's good at holding a item in place, its not good for moving items.

it will work for a little while, but I don't believe JB Weld handles vibration very well. I've used it on a GBB slide (didn't work very well) and repairing slight body damage. It is very strong stuff for steady pressure, but as far as shock stress and vibration, it might just be better to replace it entirely if you can.

Thanks for the replies. Vibration would be a big problem, especially because the aug's gearbox isn't exactly the most solid sitting gearbox out there.

to be honest, i am not sure. I haven't had the chance to chrono it yet. The person i got it from said 395-400 but im not so sure. The compression is perfect, it has a very stiff spring, and a 20in.+ tight bore barrel.. It seems that it would fire hotter than 400, IMO.

I have no idea, when i got the gun i was told it was mainly stock. I opened it up to find most of everything had been changed. The only thing i could tell you about the hop up is that its metal and black. I am not very familiar with AUG's or tokyo maruis, the only other tm i've had was a stock tm mp5.

alright then, thanks shoop. And yea.. i got screwed over kinda bad, But im satisfied with the gun. its got a lot of internal upgrades. With a new shell, piston, and maybe spring. it'll be perfect.
