Ok, so yeah, I'm a newb to airsoft. The only time I've ever really messed with one is when some kid/adult wants to walk around with one in public view and I get to strap on my AR and show them the business end.

tokyo marui m4a1 with a decent battery and one for spare buy some quality mid cap magazines TM or SArms work well

Since you're LE and probably don't want to stray too much from what you use at work I would suggest either a TM with recoil engine or Top Tech pneumatic blowback, both have all the additional mech functions you're used to (most AEG's dont) and reliability is ultra high on both manufacturers, haven't been too happy with CA in the last year or so, reliability issues.

If your just starting and don't to spend alot you can't really go bad with a sportline from classic army.

go with the KWA the build quality is excellent comes with a metal body and the gearbox is topnotch. my favorite stock m4 ever and ive had experience with TM and CA
