Im looking to get a decent backpack that can carry a hydration system and can be used as a standalone pack AND be attached to armor via a molle lined back.

Why not just get a normal pack and wear it over your armor with this

lol good point. wasnt looking to attach a ruck to my back though, just wanted something to carry a few items with me. like i said the Blackhawk tsunami is what im looking at right now, i just wish they had one size up

Maxpedition makes a rolly-polly backpack that can be worn by itself with the shoulder straps or can be attached to gear by use of the webbing on it and malice clips.

I have something similar to that and it was extremely uncomfortable attached to armor with appx 5 lbs in it.
