I figure that is the difference between trying to be an island and being a member of a team

Thats a good frame of mind to be in. How far are you running?
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends
max 2.5 miles I try to get a mile in when I can during my day I really need to just wake up an hour earlier and run for most of it

This helps SO much. I'll talk to me P.E. teacher about running the mile every day after school. If I ru it enough it will help with my breathing (I have asthma) and it should cut off a few seconds each time. I can do push ups and sit ups everyday as well.

asthma is usually a DQ but check that with a recruiter

Has anybody here taken the ROTC course?

-Needs more Tacti-cool.
I'm in the AFROTC program right now. I can tell you that you are going to get a different experience at every detachment or battalion you go to. Generally there is a Lab class where you practice you skills, like marching, setting up ambushes, things like that. Then there is a typical class room class, where you learn history and practical leadership lessons.
Sounds pretty helpful. Thanks.

On my phone so gonna make it short.

Branched armor, I'm a 19C... I'm not at BOLC yet cuz the army has two schools for BOLC II (benning and sill) that take 200 LT's per cycle and there were 4500+ commissionee's this year. You go based on the needs of your branch and armor isn't very high on the list it seems so I dont leave till april.. but they're doing away with BOLC II so I'm not sure how that'll affect my BOLC III date. I'm quite irritated about having to wait but theres nothing i can do so it is what it is. I'll have been with my unit for almost a full year before I even get to the armor school. I should be done 5 months before the next deployment.
What unit are you in? Or going in?

B 1/18th, been there since July. They're forward right now which I actually like because it gives me more of a chance to interact with the soldiers of the rear d since there are fewer of them.
Is this guard? Active? If guard, are they in Sac?
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends
Guard in escondido... tryin to get a transfer to active but the guard has this thing against letting officers go, something about a shortage
Don't worry, I'll take your place in 8 or so years.
