trying to take the flash hider off. any ideas. they used loctite or some type of glue. have the thing soaking in solvent and last thing is a torch before i grind int off. has anyone taken off one of these things before.
Not trying be a smartass here but have you bothered to unscrew the set-screw? Most flash hiders should have a set-screw that secures them to the outer barrel. DO NOT repeat DO NOT grind the flash hider off!!!!!! You will never really be able to re-use your current barrel after that point. Take it into to Ronnie or Chris at AEX or PM Shawn (Snoopy) and they should be able to help you. Good luck.
hey, very mechanical. the guys at AEX snapped the barrel in half trying to take one of those things off. Ron at AEX said if i get it, let them know how i did it. soaked that bad boy in solvent for 6.5 hour and hell no!!! it won't budge. had to take extreme measures and got it. the thread doesn't fit my tm flash hider or my socom silencers. HUH????
I had to use a barrel vise and channel locks on mine...broke the uper reciver because i was to lazy to go out to my shop and use the vise....oh well just another excuse to go to AEX and buy a hurricane m4 body....
I shoot Table Gypsies on sight!
I personally just used some heavy duty pliers to unscrew it, just make sure you are doing it in the correct direction. There is clockwise and counter-clockwise so just mae sure you are careful...

take the gun apart, remove hop-up and inner barrel. take a propane torch and heat the sucker up. the epoxie or thread locking compound will burn and smoke. use a wrench and the thing comes of with ease. had to use alot of heat though. no damage to the hider or barrel. save others a lot of work and strain!!! any questions email. yes it is counter clock wise.
