G&G GR16-A4 won't auto

Apr 11, 2005 4:26am
Interesting discussion just posted on this gun. Mine was working fine until loaned it out. Now it won't fire in full auto (just fires single shot and can hear a "clunk"). Works in semi-auto. Any suggestions on how to fix this (other than never to loan out a gun)??

Did you loan it to a personal friend or just someone who needed to borrow a gun?

all of the above

Well all the people using the gun could have used it carelessly(like shooting off a whole high cap on auto without stopping), just in the future it probably would be a good idea not to loan your good expensive guns out to random people, just if you have a friend and tell him not to go trigger happy, heh most of us have an old starter gun like a cheap stock mp5 which you dont care as much about.

Agreed, but what is wrong with the gun?

Might be the selector plate. And it could be something that would of gone out if you were using it also. Who knows.

yeah, check the selector plate, the cut off lever or spring for the cut off lever. other than the little problem, how do you like the gun? i have owned TM, ICS, AE this will keep up with them. stock wise out perform them.

the cam that connects the selector lever to the selector place could simply be out of whack. If you take the lower receiver off check that and make sure that the screw is tight. When you put it back together make sure you have the selector switch about half way between safe and semi, that makes it easier to align the gearbox into the receiver, and to get the cam into the slot.

Thanks everyone. Really is a great gun. Has a nice feel to it. ROF is awesome. Puts out a really tight pattern when firing in auto. Can't put on a autowinding mag though since battery is in one of the mag slots and would need to re-wire the gun.

Let me preface my comment, I work for a large airsoft company in the bay area as a lead technician, the issue you are having with your AEG is as follows, the G&G AEGs while being constructed out of 99% metal use a plastic selector cam, no one here can reason why this was done it makes no sence, but never the less thats what they did, the problem will happen on every G&G at some point until the factory changes the selector cam to metal, our G&G sources tell us this is in the works, but on already deployed guns they are plastic, the simple solution is to change the selector switch cam to a classic army set, once you do that you'll never have an issue with it again, being that this is G&G's first outing as a gun maker its a small defect thats easily corrected, all be it annoying not bad for their first time out..

did you ever fixed it?? and what was the finnal outcome?? what was the cure-all solution? have the same gun with no problems so far.

i hve the same problem with my mp5sd6, it didnt shoot auto and only smei when i lent it out. now it shoots nothing, it is jammed or something. whenever i pull the trigger it makes a loud humming noise, i have no idea what to do except take it into AEX.. too far..

miked, i would stop pulling on your trigger, it will only make matters worse, trust me. just take it over to AEX or fortress, or a couple guys here on the boards and do good work on guns (ask snoopy he can prolly get it all worked out for you)
