[quote="AngryBird"]Hi there!
Welcome to the sport and the site.
It's not the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog.
Thanks for the suggestions! I may head out to a store soon and feel a few AEGs. However, what about tac vests? Any suggestions on those?
Don't worry about extra gear or sidearms just yet. I ran just a gun, a couple hi-cap magazines and Home Depot safety classes for the first couple of months. You also don't need camo just yet either. Jeans and a t-shirt/sweatshirt will be fine for starters. However, proper eye protection is MANDATORY. Anything ANSI 87.1 rated or higher will get you on the field and playing.
I have always acted in self defense, occasionally pre-emptive self defense.
Welcome! I have been playing since I was 15 and am now I am 26 with a fam.
As far as gear goes it can go either way. While you don't need camoflague it is nice to have on the basis that it is thick enough to stop bb's while thin enough to run in. I would definantly recomend getting a pair of clothes specificly for airsoft, camo or not doesn't really matter but what you should look for is something thick enough take the initial impact of the bb's and keep you warm in this weather while being breathable and something you can run in, and ofcourse not flashy colors.

If you are on a gear budget try getting a web belt with two dump pouches. 1 for full mags 1 for empty. I like wearing blue jeans or cargos when I play and ussualy wear a sweart shirt or t-shirt. I do recomend knee pads good knee pads! and also good boots that are lightweight.
