Talk about a typical top notch reporting job...yikes, there is virtually 0 information in either article, simply the mention of an "incident of improper handling of an airsoft gun" WTF does that mean? Did she handle a students airsoft gun...hers...did she point it at the student and say bang...did she barrel sweep the student...did she point it at herself and say "stay back or the principal gets is"...I mean really..the second article goes on to mention a girl with an inflatable that "looks like a gun" all parties involved are so retarded it gives retarded people a bad name..is it even possible the airsoft gun mentioned was actually an air(inflatable) soft (made from nylon) gun?

i saw this on tv the other day and knew it was only a matter of time before it escalated..... stupid people, ruining our damn sport, really pisses me off. The news channel blamed airsoft, showing pictures of guns and had interviews with parents about their thoughts on airsoft... people are no damn good.

Fudd brings up a valid point. Alot of people don't have the brain power to handle a firearm. And when open carry alows joe shmoe to carry a boom stick without passing a few tests, there can and will be problems. But there is an advantage to having open carry. If someone is wanting to start trouble, and your gun is in sight it might make that person think twice. Even the biggest idiot in the world understands the concept of "If he haz gun too, I can get dead." and with open carry the thought "If everyone haz gun, I get deaded good." may cross their mind.

Just because stupid people could hurt themselves or others accidently doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to carry a gun. If we got rid of "protect yourself from yourself" laws then eventually all the stupid people would kill themselves. Yes they might take some smart folk along with them but in the long run only smart people would have new little people and raise them to not be morons. That was sarcasm but its an interesting way of looking at things :P
