barrel extension
so im lengthening the barrel on this spring action plinker gun, for a few reasons: short action film prop, more acruacy for plinking cans when im bored, and it will look badass!
If you really think its worth it, id just do it. Honestly, what is there to lose? Its a springer...

I'm sorry, was that your face?!
Apoc: Nope. No way. There is not nearly enough surface area on the two ends for epoxy or glue or anything to hold strong enough to work. You would need a sleave on the outside that could support both ends.

Good point. The round would likely get stuck in there

:? No, too expensive to pay for a minimum of 5 asian import pens needed to make the mods. Each mod came up to about 30 + shipping. They add up.

the barrel im adding slides into the orange piece before meeting the built in barrel of this pistol, did i not make that very clear? it acts as the coupler, i would be gluing the new barrel to the inside walls of the orange tip. and if im correct, pretty sure i am, it will fire BBs more accurately. did a few firing tests just holding it in there, it seemed to show it will work in my favor.

It's not the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog.

stock barrels are generally 6.05-6.07 tightbores can be down to 6.01. But with springers it could be anything.

No, tape won't work. You best bet to get it to work (strong wise, I still think the seam is going to mess up the bbs flight path if they even make it out at all) would be to sleave the barrels together. But if you can't get the barrel out, you're not going to be able to do that. If you're OD of the barrels is 1/4, find a brass tube at a hobby shop with an ID of 1/4 and slip it over the two ends and push them together inside the sleave. THEN glue it in place.

nothing will work aised form using some form of welder then polishing the inside to a smooth finish. How do I know this? I tired it. I attempted with all tjhe methods mentioned here and I managed a R&D fab lab for 3 years. Your going to have a gap, the BB will bounce down that barrel. It will be a micro bounce but none the less it will. As soon as it hits that gap (which it will) all the energy will be lost or misdirected. Your only option would be to find a barrel that is the entire lenght from hopup to desired end.
@kingsniper: ur right, i didnt think about that. it is made by UMAREX which is the company that produces all the Walther airsoft and firearms. hopefully that means some kind of good news for me in this...
