The magnitude 6.9 earthquake was 20 years ago tomarrow. I was all of 4 years old, but I remember it very well. Our house had a small crack in the drywall, and a few broken dishes, but I remember watching the TV that night and seeing SF burning and the freeways collaped. And I remember sitting through lots of little aftershocks.

I was 12 my brother was 8, we were home alone when it rattled n rolled. I remember yelling at my brother as it started to stop jumping in the other room, then soon realized that wasn't him. TV's fell, stuff scattered as were were huddled in a door frame. Took our parents hours to get home due the earthquake traffic. Pretty freaky!! But I always have liked earthquakes it's the craziest feeling. I don't like the part where people can die though.

A few walls had cracks and we lost some china. my uncle was on the END of the bridge, he looked back and saw a hole. He just kept going. My mom was in college at Hayward. Dang teacher wouldnt let them leave. My dad was freaking out.

My parents JUST got off the collapsed freeway when it happened with my sister in the car (was a baby then). Lucky they got off just in time.

I lived in Martinez at the time and was swinging on a rope swing from a tree that grew through our back deck and didn't feel a thing. My mom came out and yelled at me that there was an earth quake and for me and my friends to come inside. I replied "what earthquake?"

I was working for an architectural firm (in Sacramento) at the time and once the building started swaying our boss came running out of his office and ordered everyone out. I had vertigo for about 2 days because I was staring down at some blueprints at the time the swaying started.
I have always acted in self defense, occasionally pre-emptive self defense.

I had the game turned on and was running around the house wearing my SF Giants gear and Will Clark t-shirt. I firmly believe this was a conspiracy against the Giants and this is the reason why they had such a hard time.

My Dad was telling me about this today, he was in San Francisco outside the house playing ball with some friends because they were waiting for the World Series to start. He said the ground started shaking and stuff started to crack, and how you could feel aftershocks for a few days afterwards.
