well my wires, motor, gears and everything else is pissin me off. So i have come to point of not wanting to deal with a full tune up kit and buying new wires at ACE hardware and trying to jerry rig it. So Ive been looking around for complete Mechboxes. To my discovery the only one in stock that has nice shiznit in it is the Systema M16A1 VN. This will work fine in a M4 body right? I know it needs a connector & i got a con. so if i bought this and put it in and put the connector on it, it should work like a charm right?

the VN gearbox wont work in your M4. your m4 has the tabs on the upper reciever and thats why the m16 gearbox has the cut in the upper part of the gearbox. you could always custom cut the gearbox...

but the top receiver is plastic, wouldn't it just flex?

umm, ive never tried that but I know those tabs break easily... id say buy the ftk and gearbox and have someone install them for you. its not to hard of a job. also, if you hand select parts you can get a better set up than whats in that gearbox. it has a bore up kit which you dont need for a m120 and a few of systema parts are crap. Guarder is the way to go with most parts. IMO systema is only good for their gears and motors.

but the gearbox and FTK won't give me new wires

craig is right on the slot for the tabs...

if not totally broken i can fix it... wires arnt to hard of a problem as long as your trigger unit is still in good shape. if you want me to take a look at it i can get everything running for you.

well, the wires will keep touching and burning out the motor, but the wires are saudered to the trigger unit, so if i bought new wires , i would have to do some saudering.

easy enough, and its a lot cheaper than buying a new gearbox.

If you got a metal hop unit, you'd be able to use that VN mechbox.

he still has problems concerning the tabs....

No he won't!! Getting a metal hop unit will allow you to slide the box into the upper reciever first, then install the lower reciecer onto the mechbox/upper reciever. Much like how you would assemble any colt rifle with a metal body. I have a standard V2 mechbox in my M4.

whoa whoa whoa, explain what i got to do again?

hes saying once you get a metal hop-up you can slide the gearbox into the upper reciever before closing the entire reciever up. you can do this because you dont have to bolt the feeding "nipple" to the lower reciever, because the metal hop-up is all one piece.
