wat's the difference between a classic army black gearbox n a classic army silver gearbox?

Thanks Andrew so the way to tell new black from old black would be the sand cast texture on the new ones, all 1st and 2nd versions of the old CA had a smooth surface, looked kinda like TM gear boxes.

so the black gearboxs r the newer ones n the silver ones are the older type gearboxs? :?

Old ones are smooth, and came in shiny silver and black, new ones have a sand cast texture to the outside of the box and as Andrew pointed out come in silver(really a gray color) and black.
