You all fail at locations. Head up to Hwy 174 in Colfax. Take hwy 174 about 10 miles down from Colfax take Greenhorn Access. Follow it about 5 miles down an eventually dirt road. You have an entire river bed for miles and other off roaders. Best free terrain I know of. BTW, if you not very experienced take a friend who is, that area has some good rock and hill climbing.
AO makes a good point. I just figured your Jeep was ready for off roading. DO you have a lift kit, off road tires, a good winch, umm a snorkel?? lol ummm detroit lockers or airlocks? 5 point harness? A three foot jack, come a longs. Man I can name a lot more stuff.
I'll send you a PM later. I have a '69 land cruiser and live about 20 minutes away from Greenhorn. Great place to learn how to wheel. We'll talk 4x4 soon....

shit dude, I have driven my fab cherokee all over knee break (watch that soft gravel!), and GreenHorn looks perfect - BTW why aren't we airsofting there? it looks bad ass.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.

They just asked us not to play their. We freaked out the locals. Huh funny that the red necks freaked out the red necks who live in the sticks with our toy guns.
A large chuck of Greenhorn was closed last year sadly. Greenhorn is a mix of Tahoe National Forest, BLM, and Hansons (gravel company). The part Hansons owns was finally closed last year and can't be used for anything anymore. However, the parts that are TNF and BLM there is no reason you couldn't play airsoft on. Crappy thing is most of the places that would have been really awesome for airsoft have been blocked off in one way or another. There are a number of "fingers" in the river bed however that would be really cool to play on. I've never had any issues out there with the CHP or the Nevada County Sheriff. They just check that trucks and atvs are registered and legal and no one is drinking and driving or doing anything else stupid. The place is really a neat place. It was a hydro mining site, so the landscape is pretty unique. I'll see if I can dig up some more photos of it.

Hmm good to know. I know that because of the mining the mecury levels are off the charts at an unsafe level. But oh well.
