traveling with airsoft gun

Hi, I go to school in NY and my boyfriend got me into airsoft. I would like to play when I come home for Christmas but do not know the rules for traveling with my airsoft gun. Does anybody know what I must do in order to check my airsoft gun?

It depends what states you plan to go through. You absolutely MUST HAVE YOUR ORANGE TIP ON. This will save you alot of trouble should you get stopped. If you have the box the gun came in, that will also help because it clearly states the contents. If you can afford it, I would recomend shipping it over there. It's the best way to avoid trouble. Shipping is also easier than if you plan to fly with it, much less paperwork.

If you are flying I would call the airline you are going to fly with, tell them what you are transporting and see what needs to be done to do it without any issues.

if you are driving, you can put it in a locked gun bag with the orange tip on in your trunk LOCKED. you should have no problems.

Call your airliner. You will most likley have to stop first at the freight hanger and decalre it. Or something along those lines.

Yes, as long as its in a case locked, you can ship it.
