can a 16 gage peice of wire be a improvised hop up nub?

I have a CA-SCAR-L and the hop up nub was stupidly lost on my part while replacing my barrel, i never even noticed and i don't have the time to run up to aex and pick up a new one so will a piece of wire snipped to the right size work for a temporary fix? I'm just shooting out idea's so any help would be appreciated.

You can try cutting a little piece of the cheap ball point pen. That should work.

Yes it will work, quite well actually. Leave the wires inside. Stiff enough that it wont collapse and kill any hop, but forgiving enough to not be overly sensitive. Make sure its not too wide and doesn't get hung up on the sides of the hop unit where it moves up and down.

Do it in such a way that it works properly.
