well i havnt seen many reviews on the new classic army SVD sooooooo here's one and will update after christmas when it is finally mine. Testing at AEX 12/11/09 the accuracy with the iron sights were pritty decent but there was one problem with one of the two AEX had. While testing the one i was supposed to have, on the 3rd trigger pull it started firing full auto(fyi its supposed to shoot semi only) after a second burst of 3 shots it stopped functioning. THANK GOD THEY LET YOU TRY THE GUNS OUT. Sofar i dont know what the hell happened but untill I field test it id give it a 3.5 outa 5. A chance of malfunction and a dead rifle. Battery storage, its tight but it will fit. accuracy is good (sofar), design is verry good. its slim light and has a long barrel(based on my preferences). Eh the shiny finish i kinda dont like but nothin enamel paint or camo ductape cant fix. The scope is pritty nice in all. once mounted it is off set from dead center but it can be adjusted. with .20 bbs it shoots close to 390 right outa the box (AEX crono). Im gonna check with the guys at aex to see what was the problem with the previous SVD if they fixed it. Ill update this post on the 26.

ADDITION TO THE POST it would be 4 outa 5 if i could start trying it out now.

The rifles paid off and its sofar under probational use.(I can use it but not alot) Sofar the dragunov hasnt died on me. No jams no malfunctions. When i can finally try it out in broad daylight ill be able to sight in the scope and inspect its effectiveness. Current tests are being used in my back yard shooting at soda cans approximatly 40 ft from the maximum shooting point to the cans using .25 toytec bbs. The break down of the rifle is very simple and follows the K.I.S.S. rule. (Keep It Simple Stupid) Its so easy to take the rifle appart and reassemble it i bet my pre teen cousins can do the same thing without instructions. I was able to store the battery in the handguard without making the handguard appear as if its stuffed. Ill update again in a day or two. New personal rating 4/5

today i was able to try out the svd with its scope. The scope is great when adjusting it doesnt need a hell of alota rotations like some cheap scopes need nor are the nobs screw caps that need a blade headed screw driver to adjust. I would say that its worth less than 200 dollars, like 150 at the most since its a nice looking and good performing replica. I was able to hit the cans with no problem at 50 ft. I measured the actual distance from the shooting point to the cans this time and i was way off from the previous reply. Well its accurate but for a better way to fix up my scope im gonna need a bipod, a stand and sandbags, or just a dry lawn so i can just go prone and save myself alot of money. With its accuracy , effectiveness, and its scope, i now give it a 4.5 outa 5 personal rating. The reason i didnt give a full five is that it hasnt been tested in a game yet so i hope the game in Jan 2nd 2010 can help me out there.

Field testing is done and it turns out that for much longer distances i might wanna give the dragunov a tune up. 1x 650 mm prometheus tightbore from evike is on its way and i just might go for the 450fps upgrade from aex. i did get some hits with it but im sure i can improve its distance and its accuracy a bit. the trajectory isnt perfect fyi. The rifle didnt die on me durring the game, Unlike my M14 :x, and it still performed well. But due to its lack of accuracy at longer distances i gotta give it a 4/5 still. Once upgrades are done and i see some improvement that rating will change.

Glad you like the riffle and that it's working well for you. I really like this post by post review also. After you get some more solid field tests in go ahead and condense this into a single post, for the new guys. :wink:

Also just an fyi for those of you who have bought this rifle and you want to "trip it out" with accessories Hexigon Productions has made a $30 bipod that attaches between the handguard and the magazine, which is cheaper than buying a genuine $300 one (yes $300 has been the only price Ive seen, sure maybe cheaper ones out there but not cheap enough since the real svd is a highly sought after rifle). You could put a 3 point sling on an svd with the adaptors for the front sling ring but if your someone into making something kinda authentic like me an AK47 sling or an svd sling will work. (clip one side). After checking out the A6 bayonett (M14) on my CA M14, which fit perfectly, im sure the svd bayonett will fit on this too. if not its a nice knife to keep around as a collectable.

I have seen a one CA SVD at the NAM field one has a compression problem. I have a Atoz Armaments SVD springer 500fps with .20 out of the box, except I am running .25's. I have had no trouble with it beside chopping a bb in half if I misfeed haha.

SR 25 gears,piston, cylinder. The cylinder head and tappet are unique to the gun.The nozzle looks like a AK length and the motor is a short type. It comes with CA's torq motor.

Their hop is kind of a 2 piece. Its hard to explain and I am to lazy to post pics.
