Gas shotguns, yay or nay?

I've been wanting a gas shotgun for quite a while now, but i've also heard they are unreliable and the gas valves blow out really fast and the gun becomes a display piece.

i have a maruzen m870. it's good once you upgrade it to regulated co2 and mod the hop up. i get 100 feet with good spread using 5-6 bbs. spread is great with 10 bbs but you cut the range in half. the problem is finding a good reliable way to catch the empty shells. brasscatchers has a shellcatcher but the velcro wears down after awhile.

you'll need a regulator, connections, co2 tank/portable changer, tubing...should cost between 125-150. there's a review on arniesairsoft that shows you how to do the mod. classicairsoft.net has tips on regulators.
