New Admins (Lets get Political for 2010)

Dec 24, 2009 5:24pm
I want to open up the discussion for new Admins. This last year (2009) hasn't seen many games and while it can be attributed to problems with Robert's crowd or other issues, a large part of it stems from "inactive or busy admins". That is not an attempt to belittle or point fingers, we've ALL been busy over this last year and as a result games have gone from once a week to once a month. We recently got Ryan on board and he has started to host games, but I think we can do better.

I Don't think Tobin is a good candidate at this time. I have probably spent more time around him than most for you and honestly I don't see his personality working out in a leadership role, the maturity level is not quite there yet. Give him a few years as an adult and if he still sticks around I'd say go for it. Bare in mind adding new admins is done on the basis of unanimous decision, though a poll would certainly facilitate that well.
RCAS approached me about wanting to step up to the role, thoughts? I'm pretty neutral on the matter, he is a stand up guy but I'm not really sure what he brings to the table, I have not had many interactions with him over they years.
I can't see Gerry actually hosting games himself... though he's always very helpful during games. He actually normally PM's me before games and askes if I want him to show up early to help with anything.

It seems to me like all of the proposed members may be more suited to the mod/game mod role.

Do we have any other candidates?
Also what about utilizing the mod / game ref position as a means to further observe and in a way train people for hosting games. "Promotional position?"

Evan knows Tobin better then anyone, so if he doesn't think he would make a good admin, I'll back what he says. On Gerry though I'm not as ready to give up adminship. What little I've spoken with Gerry I think his quietness has more to do with his life experiences then just being shy. (I could be wrong through).

I'm more than willing to back CPs opinion of Tobin as he knows him better then the rest of us.

we really don't need more admins but rotate out those who are not as active like myself. Its been so long I don't even remember how to remove my status from my account.

I've always been a fan of game ref's first just to see if someone can handle the role. After they have proven themselves for a while then we can discuss voting them into a bigger (Admin) role. Having game ref's again would be a nice addition to the leadership tier for Sacair.
I have always acted in self defense, occasionally pre-emptive self defense.

so why dont we make a new title of game ref or whatever and get soem people in that position?
Dec 27, 2009 10:45pm
I like that idea.

I understand some admins like Bordon are willing to give up there Adminship and have no real intentions of utilizing it. However others are simply dorment and read every single thread, but never contribute, then some are really just busy.

Game Ref thread to help keep this organized, so anyone coming into this doesn't have to read 3-5 different topics discussed in the same thread.
