I have a wells warrior 1 L96 gun. It JUST started messing up. every time i work the bolt back the spring isnt catching and if i take my hand off it the bolt slams back forward. I was wondering if anyone knew the cause of this and how to fix it(and roughly how much)

i would check the sear and piston, Also check if there were any modifications. aftermarket spacers for the spring guide might be holding the piston from coming all the way back.
the gun is slightly modded. if you want to count sound deadening foam around the inner barrel to quite it down a mod. and it was working fine. i picked it up, if fired twice for me, and now this. but thanks for the help

Split the gun by unscrewing the two allen wrenches in the bottom.

Most likely a sear is stripped, its also quite possible that a spring failed and the sear is stuck, I've seen that happen before. If you lived closer I would just suggest you bring it to me. since you don't and if you feel comfortable there are plenty of tutorials on how to take the gun apart. If your having trouble the gun is the same as the UTG l96 which is very close to the Maruzen type 96
Im normally really good at taking things apart, and even fixing them, its reassembly i have issues with lol

ive encountered the same problem before and it was nothing to do with a worn sear or damaged part. theres a allen screw on the trigger assembly to adjust the tightness of the trigger pull. mine came loose and the trigger gave way from the tension of the spirng. i tightened it up a bit and it worked fine from then on.
