i just got a brand new tm g17 today from ehobbyasia, opened the box and when try to pull the slide back wouldnt go, looked at the japanese manual and found the primary safety, its the metal serial tag under the rail, and try to pull it back and doesnt want to go all the way it moves just a little.
if youre having an issue with the slide not coming back, the rails it sits on might be too wide, also the safety is on the trigger, the center tab slides up

the gun is completely stock and brand new just got it today so the rail cant be to wide for it, isnt the trigger safety for when you are going to shoot only?

Good assessment. I agree that's probably the issue. Easier fix using snub-nosed pliers.
