Picked it up at big 5 for 400 dollars and I was impressed on how well its quality was. It's a russian capture and is dated 1941 with nazi marks still intact. Serial number is still on the bolt, once I get it from big 5 ill do a little more research. Since it's a russian capture, the russians probably took the kar98k along with many others into storage after or during the war. I'll have pics up as soon as the background check is over. Also who will be going to the CHG october event cause I'll be there with the 12th SS.

Awesome dude! The K98 is on my short list of guns I want to buy. I had seen that big 5 had them a few weeks ago and the one I looked at was in great shape. Glad to hear you finally picked one up, I' know you've wanted one for a while.

which big 5 you get it at? I know my friend was eyeballing one at big 5.ha thats awesome though

Yea from what I heard about the 12th there pretty uptight on uniforms and gear but I have somebody lending me some camo and gear that I don't have yet so i'll be fine. I got the kar98k up at the placerville shop, it was the last one in stock up there so I got lucky.
