co2 bazooka vs air compressed bazooka
since no one will show me how to make a 12 gram co2 bazooka i have decided to make an air compressed bazooka. but wat i need to know is firepower. i will put one of those 5 gallon water tanks as an air chamber for my compressed air bazooka. it will use nerf foam rockets. which shoots farther, a 12 gram co2 cartridge in a bazooka, or a giant 5 gallon air chamber on an air compressed bazooka?
When you think it's safe to go back into battle...well look for my stick grenade.
i wouldnt advise one of those for a pressure chamber, they arent designed for pressure, i would use an old fire extinguisher or something that is designed for pressure. plus, that 5 gallon tank is HUGE for a bazooka
ive seen some people use a scuba tank with a valve and a tube as a bazooka, the tank would be easy to fill and it would be relatively easy and cheap to make
The two loudest sounds in the world:
plus scuba tanks are rated for like 3000 PSI which is far greater than what ur average air compressor could possibly generate, and far greater than you would ever need to launch a nerf rocket lol
ok yah i tink 3000 psi is a little much for me. im goin pretty cheap so im using a bycycle stem to fill in the air. but i need a tank that will launch a nerf rocket 300+ feet so any recommendations? how much psi would a fire extenguisher hold and how would i put a bycycle stem on the end?
When you think it's safe to go back into battle...well look for my stick grenade.
there are very literally hundreds of diagrams, schematics, and people who have made these one the web. FING USE GOOGLE wtf man
scuba tank...just cuz its rated for 3k psi, doesnt mean u have to put 3k psi in it :P
scuba tanks are frekin huge. i tink ill go with the fire extenguisher
When you think it's safe to go back into battle...well look for my stick grenade.
that works, since they are rated for like 300 psi, which is more than enuf to shoot a foam slug at someone from 300 feet...
what is it with everyone calling me an idiot today?!?!
If you don't know what you are doing, don't try to build anything with pressure. You will build yourself a pipe bomb and if you survive when you blow yourself up you'll be picking PVC bits out of your face for a long time. PVC can not safely withstand that kind of pressure. You will get hurt or hurt someone else.

i know how pressure vessels work, my dad is a mechanical/marine engineer and teaches me how shit works all the time thats y i reccomended he not use the acrylic water jug and switch to a tank designed for pressure, and u wouldnt use pvc for the barrel, you would use steel/aluminum piping.
lol. I wanna see pics. This should be good.

ok in all honesty, i think building a home grown airsoft rocket launcher may not be the best idea, if you really want something, get a 40mm pvc pipe and build a rocket launcher around it (and use the slug nade rounds) thats prolly ur best bet, and is the safest

Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.
i found tons of plans on google in like 2 seconds... if you got the cash buy a pneumatic spud gun or t-shirt cannon.

blainO: you forgot to mention barrel resistance, ideal projectile velocity, range, the fact that the valve must be able to "snap" open, not like a water hose valve, and so on...there is just way to much math involved in this project to make it safe...might i recommend an m203 nade launcher, it will acheive everything you want to do, and already has all the math worked out to make it safe to use :)

a air compressed fire extenguisher sounds cool. i know exactly how to make an air compressed bazooka. with co2 i dont know wat valve you need for a 12 gram co2 cartridge, so dont be callin me an idiot. you have to give me credit, you guys are probably over 18, im only 14. ill use steel aluminim.
