I have always wanted to be a reenactor at a Renaissance fair. I could totally bring my taser and play a medieval wizard. "I cast lightning on thee!"

Why do I imagine Bruce Campbell yelling "This is my Boom Stick!"

well, Jay, it is just a hobby or sport.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.

Have fun at the Renaissance fairs. I remember going to a few when I was really young. There were always ladies wearing outfits with apples between their tits and pot smokers out in the parking lot. Good times!

I tried to get out of airsoft completely nearly 4 years ago. Sold off all of my stuff, and stopped thinking about airsoft and playing. And it worked for 4 years. I had a ton of fun, moved onto a lot of different hobbies, and the airsoft sale help funded my new hobbies.

wow....thank blain-o that was touching. but my problem wiht both...is i need my renn gear before the middle of october for our first event.... and the only way i can afford it that quickly would be to sell my airsoft gear...or rob a bank... and i dont like one option, and the other would not end well, so would be pointless. but ill try to stay here and continue playing with everyone if i can.

Well, I got to play one game with you and had a great time. So I really hope you save your gear and come out once in awhile.

apologies doomonhue, but i dont remember having play a game with you? was it the most resent game? the one on the 24th of august? and this isnt a new hobby persay, i use to have two different era costumes, one renn era, one medieval era. im jsut getting back into with a re-enacting troupe instead of as a visitor/patron of the faire.

I don't know much about renn/med faires, but have you asked around for loaner gear? Most new comers in WW2, Civil War etc usually start out with loaner gear thrown together by the veteran members of a unit / group, so they can test the waters to see if the hobby is for them before shelling out all the money. Just a thought...

DOnt sell your stuff, will cost you more in the long run. I quit airsoft every few years or so and I have not recovered from my mass sell off. I really do regret it. Now I have a family and I cant dump money BACK into it.

Well bro I have a second option. I have extra camo in your size an extra M4 and some extra gear. Also since I'm going to be getting more into the Vietnam scene I'll be probably wearing that to normal games. So if your willing to still take the time to go to games I'll let you borrow the gear till you decide you wanna pick up your own gear.
It's not the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog.

You can keep the airsoft hobby but go to the renn fairs as a future super soldier (a witch) just a suggestion :P

@agentorange: great idea for a patron of the fair. but again ill be acitng WITH the faire. I will be required to meet certain dress codes(including armor and weapons) for my guild acts as a mercenary unit in the queens royal guard at most events...

Do what you need to do man. You'll lose money selling your stuff...that's a given. You can always sell your renaissance stuff back and get into airsoft again.
