real steel suggestions

Jul 17, 2011 12:53am
So I'm thinking of getting a long arm. Not sure if I want a rifle or a shotgun. I would be using said gun for plinking. I have shot and had fun with both rifles and shotguns but stil cant make my mind up. Also I would like to have a few suggestions of good guns for what I am looking for. preferably guns under $500 but if there is something close that you think I might like suggest away.

it truly all depends! if you want a super inexpensive weapon to buy and shoot I agree with the 10/22. not to mention with a few mods you can make it look bad ass!. the only problems with it are that there is NO kick to it like a shotgun and it is quiet as all hell. Shot guns are fairly cheap to shoot as well but you can't shoot it as many places as you could a rifle. There aren't too many rifle ranges that allow you to shoot shotgun. Then you get to centerfire rifles. they are more expensive to buy, more expensive to shoot however boy do they feel good on the shoulder when you fire them and they sound good too. they make a statement every time you pull the trigger :) bottom line it truly all depends on what you are looking for

If you want a solid plinker I would highly recommend going the 10/22 route. You simply can't go wrong with one. Go see my buddy Rob @ Sac Blackrifle. He won't be beaten price wise. He has the stainless synthetic version for $229.00+DROS & tax. That's still $50 less than Big 5's "sale" pricing at $279.00.

Yeah if you don't want to go the .22 route SKS is great has a rifle grenade launcher/ bayonet and 7.62x39 is a cheap round and it loads quickly with the 10 round stripper clips real simple to dismantle and reassemble but with the processing+tax and the sale price it gets near that $500 mark.

I have a chinese sks. Its a very nice performing rifle. for what it is. Jams a occasionally if you go cyclic, but not during regular sustained fire.

The 10/22 is the best first long gun for you.......Lots of upgrades that are still CA legal. It is a great training gun to teach proper breathing and sight control with little to no kickback you can focus on the techniques. Go with the bull barrel model if you are looking for tack driving and a nice thumb hole stock. Easy to clean and maintain.

Blowing stuff up with tannerite or just propane tanks and stuff
-Bennett https://www.youtube.com/user/SieUbermensh/videos
Jul 19, 2011 6:19am
uh just water bottles and fruit and stuff maybe the occasional propane tank that is close to if not empty. is tannerite legal in cal? I have never looked into it but it sees like one of those things they would outlaw here.

Its legal but its just real loud and brings unwanted attention to yourself so noone takes the risk

Dont give out advice if you dont understand/know the correct answer. DO NOT PLAY WITH TANNERITE!!! If you get caught, you will be arrested. I've been a cop for near 10 years and I can't think of an argument you can make to defend using Tannerite in CA. Here is California's definition of an "explosive". (There have already been arrests made for Tannerite all over the US)

If you want to watch stuff blow up when you shoot it get a Mosen Nagant, its a bolt action but many model to chose from and it will devestate things.
