Boots?
Are boots really needed for the places we play at? and if so, what are some inexpensive boots? I've searched the forums but came up with nothing, and i google'd but i dont really know what brands are good or not.

i know for nam boots are recommended, and the ankle support helps with the uneven surfaces, but they arent really needed, i have seen a few guys running around in sneakers. and milspec combat boots arent going to be cheap, the cheapest pair of Altamas i have found are like $75.
Not sure what ones are good but i cant warn you to stay away from the RG gear ones at big 5. got them along time ago when i first started playing, thought they were cool but they started to rip near the heal and are not very comfortable. The soles of my feet end up hurting if i do any running in them. But im sure lots of the guys who have been in the military will have some good advice for you.

Well, i was thinking i should get boots so i'm not runnin around in my Jordans or Vans, which i dont think would work very well.

Boots are not NEEDED... but they are a very good idea. There is a lot of uneven ground and sticks and what not to hurt your feet and ankles on. Plus during the summer the stickers and thorns are nasty. You will be happier with boot. Good boots cost a lot, but will last a very long time and will be comfortable compared to cheaper boots. That being said, other then my ww2 corcorans I buy cheap boots for work becuase I wreck them anyway.

Well, its definitely different for everyone. I figure that combat boots are too clunky and don't let me be agile enough so I wear medium-rise Nike hiking boots so I can sprint well.
If your looking for something other than military style boots, go with Merrell. Got a pair two years ago, and their still working out really well for me. try Discount Shoe Warehouse for some good deals if you got one locally. I beleive I picked up mine, on 25% discount, for around 65-70 bucks.

I bought me a good pair of tactical boots from Big 5 sporting goods. At the time they were on sale for $29 bucks. They're light weight and seem to be pretty durable. They won't keep your feet dry if you tromp through a creek. They feel like wearing Nike's once they're broke in. In fact I wear them just out and about from time to time. They're called Response Gear or RG for short. They aren't the gear I'd recommend for authenticity, but they are better than wearing white tennis shoes.

I wear a pair of Magnum boots I bought a Hi-tech for about $30 bucks a year ago. They are VERY comfortable, I wear them as my regular shoes now. The ones I have are black, but I saw some really nice tan ones there too.
Get some Merrel's.

Does the Action Military Surplus Store on Auburn, Blvd in Sacramento have anything worth checking out? BDUs, Boots, etc.

If they're just for airsoft go to walmart and find some hiking boots that fit and feel comfy. if they have funky colors, sharpie makes black and OD green markers.
Monk loves his Oakley boots. Both pairs :-)
