Indoor ranges can vary. Some don't allow over 350, ASBG doesn't allow over 400 fps.

I'll probably draw flak from our more diehard spenders and players, but go with a CYMA / AGM / SOFTAIR / CyberGun if your spending range is that low. I have owned several over the years from their M14's to their Thompsons and all performed well enough in games big and small. Just realize you are more likely to have a lemon, encounter problems or need repairs. But at the end of the day how often will you really be playing?

That's a great rifle also any of the Classic Army Sportlines. I wouldn't suggest buying many guns, all you need is a reliable rifle and a reliable pistol and your set. Don't worry about buying a super pistol either, as long as your rifle is working you won't be really using it unless you get close up. And then all you need is something that can hit 20 feet and is semi auto. I'd suggest putting money into longevity upgrades for your choice of a sportline. If your going to be mainly ASBG I'd suggest a p90, good ROF, good mag cap, and a small package. Or a AR15A4 for anything else they are common, lotsa upgrades, good range, lotsa ammo, all around a great gun.
It's not the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog.

Another great option for getting a good gun at a decent price is buying a used one. Craigslist is full of bargains. There are a ton of cheap walmart guns being sold, but also you'll find nice ones. I like looking for used KWA, Classic Army, and Tokyo Mauri guns. Used ones go anywhere from 1/3 to 3/4 the price of a new one.

random unrealted question, are springer pistols completely useless for this level of gaming? i have a umarex P99 spring that im about to finish a barrel extension on. mostly its a backyard plinker and a nifty wall decoration i got for 11 bucks, only thing is that the stock barrel is about 2.5 inches long, so i had a spare airsoft aluminium barrel. i have the space made for it just need to square it in there and use some epoxy to keep it solid. would it be of any use in games?

Jg isn't so bad, for beginner level guns, and are decent upgrade platforms. Although when you first get one I would advise you to do minor work on the gearbox, and make sure everything is properly set up. If you don't want to deal with all that, you should go for a more reputable company. Although making sure the gun is proper, is something that should be done to most guns.
