How hot does your gun shoot ,how does this make you better?
I am an opponent of what seems to be the american fps standard of 400. I think it is dumb to have a gun that shoots so hot you cant shoot people within 30 feet (or whatever the minimum engangement is...) and that you can get teeth chipped or bbs in the skin even at 'safe' distances.
you look hungry...how about some bbs?
So you live in Minnesota right? I don't know what the terrain is like there, but here, 400 fps is completely justified for most of our fields.
A lot of the "Sacair Allstars" run M100's regardless of the size of the field. Those guys have "game" and don't need to rely on FPS. I'm in the school of thinking that the player should worker harder, not the gun. Just my opinion though.... :D
Ray's got the MOVES!
Ya i run an m100. it will make you a better player in the long run.

Depends on which of my guns you're talking about. I've had guns that shoot from stock to 505 fps. My 505 fps AUG was used as a sniper rifle, and I kept engagement distances at around 100-150+ feet. I used .30g bb's in that sucker. I eventually got rid of it. Currently, these are the guns I use...
I've been running stock for as long as I've been playing. Just makes me work a little harder, and be a little more sneaky.
WAR IS PEACE.
I like 350fps for outdoors. indoor i agree stock is all that is needed. play a different field if you NEED 400fps, that kind of game is boring anyway, long ball aegs.
Perfectly said paintballum2006.

i run 360 - FPS, anything lower than that out of my AEGs, my highest shooting AEG is my M4, shoots 360 with a .20 and no hop on. i run .25s so its pretty low. my other AEG only shoot 330-340 FPS, only cause of such a small inner barrel, no need to try to get FPS up on something short for a room clearer.

Some good points and some bad points. I personally do agree that some people tend to buy their guns and upgrade them immediately. Why not play with a stock gun and then move up? You'll never know how your gun shot before if you never played with it stock for a while. I had my TM G36C for a while now and ran practically 50K rounds through it and it finally crapped out on me so now I will have to change the spur gear. Since I have it open, I'll be throwing an M100 spring and bushings. Nothing major.

The problem with having low FPS is that the BB's dont get there fast enough at longer distances...Past 150 feet, people will be able to dodge BB's if they see you shooting at them (that's why some people like using box mags )...
I personally think it all boils down to taste. I personally don't mind playing against someone with a 400 fps upgrade, just makes me feel all the better when I take him out.

I just recently upgraded my G36c, but its max fps is 372. I had it upgraded because I was using my gun paintball style (lobing shots at long distance) I did this because my rounds were falling short at long range while they were shooting me straight on.

Just for informational purposes for those who do not know, cause I saw acouple of people imply this...

in done for the day....

not neccesarilly (dont know how to spell) when you use heavier bb's they have more kinetic energy because they have more momentum. when you use .12 bb's they dont hurt as much as when you use .2 bb's in the same gun. It might lower the fps but it hits much harder. It all depends what you are doing and what your job is when you use your gun or rifle.

whats up im in class right now lol
Is there a penis in my butt?
It is simple physics. If your gun shoots 328fps (100m/s) with a .0002 kg (.20g) bb the power is 1Joule.
you look hungry...how about some bbs?
im impressed. very nice

All that the heavier bb does is make it a more stable flight path.
you look hungry...how about some bbs?
yea i use .3 b's for my modified super 9 and i use .2 bbs with the luger that i bought its a pretty good combination
