Support gun role

Aug 30, 2010 12:14am
So I have become bored with my current role and want to switch to a lmg. I was wondering cause i always see a bunch of CA SAWs being for sale and such. Is a LMG worth owning and running? I do plan go to a couple ops and be a support gunner for whatever squad im in. What would be a good LMG to start with. Im trying to sell my current gun for 500$ and plan to have 400 of it to use towards a lmg.

I've got the m60vn, badass gun, very tough, really super awesome, buy mine because I'm more of a rifleman/submachine guy so buy mine
everything is amazing, but everyone is an idiot

I will once my other gun sells since you didnt want to trade lol. Whats a good size battery to fit in it? Im wanting to run 9.6v minis. Whats the largest Mah youve fit in there?
Aug 30, 2010 12:28am
I just strapped it on top of the mag rather than on the side in the alotted battery area, so any size battery will work

Alright do you think that firing rate controller will ever crap out?

I disabled mine because it was more of a novelty than anything

Just remember with a support weapons come extra weight, ya it may not sound like a lot but packing a 15 pound that is about waht 4 feet long up a hill SUCKS! I know I have had a few saws in the past.

So its at the higher firing rate forever sounds good to me.
Aug 30, 2010 12:38am
The rate of fire is good, nobody has ever gotten past it's deadly barrel of doom, and the mag feeds perfectly, it's a great gun all around

Alright what version parts does it take? Does your have a nub i was reading someplace that people where getting them with no hopup nubs.
Aug 30, 2010 12:42am
Yes the hop works, but I suggest running .2s in it, I ran .25s and I had to max out the hop up to get them to go straight

Alright ill run .20s in it you get a little more for your moneys worth. Standard tightbore barrels work? I still want a spread but not a massive spread.
Aug 30, 2010 12:50am
Yep normal tightbores are fine, the hop actually looks like a clone ca saw hop unit
everything is amazing, but everyone is an idiot
Aug 30, 2010 12:52am
Is it a pretty good clone of it? Its similar to a drum hopup correct? Also whats the gun chronoing?

Like what was said before, with a true support weapon platform comes the extra weight and reduced maneuverability.

Yea but when I go to a OP ill be needing to buy a whole bunch of midcaps just to play. Where as with a SAW or a M60 i can still stay as a support role. Ive done the whole have a box mag on a m4 and that didn't last long. I can deal with the weight and such just take a lil getting used to.

Oh that was another thing I was going to ask does anybody make a feeding tray for the m60 with a rail on it? Or will I be bringing out the JB weld to make a rail stay on the feed tray?
Aug 30, 2010 10:48pm
Actually, the way the magazine sits on the gun makes it troublesome for lefties as your knuckles will end up rubbing against it.
Aug 30, 2010 10:57pm
I wear gloves so that should help right?

In regard to the rubbing issue... (no homo) I'm left handed and have used togun through several battles of bb slanging and haven't noticed it rubbing on any part of my hand

Yea thats what i was looking for hey acleast its cheaper then the split rail I have for my G36. Is the M60 worth getting or would a A&K saw do just as well? Im not really a big fan of the para. I really like the MK1 but where does the battery go in the mag or the body?
