TM G Spec Project: a little different
So I have been considering a new idea for a while now about using a low power sniper rifle at an airsoft game, and using it effectively. Specifically a low powered Tokyo Marui Gspec. What I want to test out is if a Sniper rifle that shoots at a lower fps than most AEG's, can be effective. This isn't the first time I've actually done this, back when i got my first Gspec I used it stcok for a couple games but i basically just had to get lucky and be in the right place at the right time. Now i want to try it again with a few upgrades, mostly custom stuff.
will be interesting. ill have to check it out when you are done. it would be nice to have a low fps sniper platform, maybe some kids would be permitted to use snipers before the age requirement then but who knows.

seems like a cool idea I definately want to knw how that works out. one thing to do would maybe use a rubburizer spray like for cars or tool handles and use that on any metal surfaces that cannot be padded by a oring or washer etc such as a trigg sear or maybe even the cylinder spring(tips at least)
Russel Crowe- whether its a skirt in gladiator or tights in master and commander, he can still kick your ass.
Yeah I have a couple more things I want to try out in the cylinder. including trying a different material for the silent damper i used. its thicker and more bouncy. I would lose some fps I think but if it makes a drastic silence difference then it might be worth it. The gun is already super quiet with what i did so far, I'm just trying to be whisper quiet.
I used rubber foam for the dampening head for my type 96. It was a bit quieter than the stock rubber ring that came with the laylax cylinder. The only problem was that it was a HUGE hassle to cut. Get it as thick as possible because later down the road, the foam completely flattened on me. It gave my sniper rifle a bit more crisp sound rather than kadonk~ ~ ~. I'm not too sure about your spring guide, but I was able to eliminate more sound by fitting rubber O rings at the end where the spacers are. As for the FPS tuning, I used washers in the cylinder to tune it +/-5-10.
SO i just put in a laylax barrel and switched to the firfly soft bucking (was using very soft) and it made a huge difference with range. I am very happy with it. can hit 200 feet. not bad for a 270fps gun

Dev, Snoop and I were at CQB City one day last year with our aps. threw a stock spring/cylinder in, shooting 280fps and destoyed the opfor all day. We racked up well over 200 kills for the day. Your idea is solid. Accuracy is #1 in sniping. Nice work bro.

Thanks Dagger. I feel this rifle will be really good at galt and even better at places like nam. The best part I dont have to worry about any broken parts ever.

I'm going to have to try the tape on the spring part and possibly the pillow stuffing soon. But just as props to the gun it is really quiet.
