Well...after deciding not to sell my bar 10 g-spec, I have brought it upon myself to do a complete overhaul on the gun. I have always liked the m40a3 look but i felt it would not look right with the g-spec front end. Thus i am making myself a cheap custom suppressor sleeve if you will to go over the existing one.

very nice. maybe make the silencer thingy just a bit thinner. its a bit thick. but thats just my opinion

yeah i was thinking the same thing but that was the only pvc pipe i could find that meshed up perfectly with the current suppressor. Its really not a big deal to me. It prolly wont look as big either when the color matches the rest of the gun, cause right now it kinda stands out.

careful with the fortress stock. i have read reviews (on arnie's i think) about how the build quality is pretty bad for the price. it has a tendency to crack and require repairs...

I've also heard reviews about the fortress breaking easy or coming brken, not to mention the seam line for a $350 replica. maybe consider keeping ur stock and just purchasing a after market kydex cheek rest. I agree barrel looks a bit large, u consider removing the silencer and putting a pipe that fits the barrel diameter exactly where the silencer was instead?

I had not heard of how frail the fortress stocks are. As for the suppressor yeah it's thick but it was always my intention to just sleeve the original. That way I can easily take it off to unjam the gun heaven forbid it gets jammed. Any suggestions on an aftermarket stock that won't fall apart? Not really dead set on m40a3 I just hate the vsr/bar style stocks. Thanks for all you comments and insight.

Dosent the a3 have the rail at the end of the reciever or is that the a4 or a5?

for the barrel what about just getting a silencer that is equal in diameter to the barrel. if ur set ongetting a m40a3 stock for 200 more than the fortress u could get a real mcmillian stock.

Nope. I was one of the best in the class. Well grade wise. She prolly just gave me an A because her son and I were both on the track team.

so no one knows of any aftermarket stocks for vsr-10s? other than the fortress ones.

Why not get the fortress and just beef it up before it breaks?

Internals are done but still need to be tested. Other than the laylax barrel, 150 spring and nine ball bucking. I have have installed some Polar Star parts. Polar Star from what i have read is the edgi durability upgrades revamped with a new name. I have installed their Piston with a cup piston head like that of an aps piston, sear set that is hardened steal and very high polish making trigger pull a lot easier than before and the polar star ball bearing spring guide. There is little play between the spring guide and the spring as well as the spring and the inside of the piston. The parts seem to be very high quality. I am anxious to test it in the field. As for the conversion I have not yet decided. I have found a review for the fortress m24 style stock and it appears to be more durable than the m40a3 one. fps results and performance will be posted when i have completed my testing.

the m40a3 stock has been discontinued from what ive heard.. if you have one hold it i guess regardles they are junk and are pretty fragile.

Yeah I know they have been discontinued but I have found a few places with both the m40a3 and m24 versions in stock.

just got done chronoing the gun at aex. Its shooting 515-520 fps with a pss10 150 spring. Little hotter than i was hoping for but its all good.
