Debate: Green gas is, in fact, propane...

Apr 22, 2005 8:31pm
That's right. Carlton Chong of Airsoft Innovations has had the gas analyzed and the two yielded nearly identical results.

Uh, except one can go ablaze from a flame source much easier then the other.

The reason why this debate is started is because there's discourse as to whether or not propane and green gas are the same thing. This started when Carlton Chong of Airsoft Innovations had both types of gasses analyzed by a lab at a major university. Read the article here...

Whether it is the same as green gas or not it works really well, I have been using it for months and it saves alot of money if you shoot pistols alot.
(The pressures are identical as well, except propane is stored in a stronger container with a pressure vent valve while green gas is stored at high pressures in a container that's about as strong as a soda can and has blown up a portion of a truck as a picture posted on Arnie's Airsoft has shown before...)
Go ahead and use campfire gas. When/if it blows your face off you will be staring at half your face and wondering why. If I use Green gas and it does the same I would just hire a lawyer and take care of it that way. (Still sucks to be missing a face.....

i think why some propane shoots harder is because its under higher perssure. u might want to check that beafore you buy it but it works great in my fmv kjw m9 and my friends dual fmv kjw p14's its too hard for my mac 11 thought but it sucks none the less. i hate hfc!!!!!!
#2 - Hiring a lawyer if green gas blows up in your face will do nothing, since all green gas is imported. If you sue your local airsoft retailer, you'll just end up getting airsoft bad press and they'll make legislation to get rid of it. If you try to sue an overseas manufacturer, the worst that'll happen is that they outlaw importation. You don't get any money out of it, or the missing half of your face.
Propane is the best. I have used it ever since I got my gas gun, yes, my plastic slide needs to be replaced but propane is so much cheaper.

I like to use 100%, pure methane. Home grown and an extremely effective incindiary weapon.

On the subject of Green gas being flammable, I once saw a video of some guy who turned his mac10 into a flamethrower (what an idiot  )

For the ease of argument, could someone please just post an outline of the "proof" or evidence that greengas is propane.
