i just graduated so i got 300$ as a gift and want to get a laptop.

what kind of games do you play??

i work at the roseville best buy, its gonna be an hp or a toshiba that are the most reliable, and both manufacturers have really nice models in that price range

i know you do lol, with mike. he is a friend of mine and i was worried about buying from brands like that. was almost going to place and order on best buy's website for a dell inspiron.

i have to agree with bordicons posts, partially because hes an admin lol but he has a lot of good points, although some are standardized now, such as screen resolution and wifi cards, whatever brand you get, make sure your happy and know you want it instead of going and just buying one willie nillie, thats the most that i see coming back is people who impulse buy, think and do your research and youll never go wrong even with the shittiest computer

well I highly recommend formatting and reinstalling the operating system to remove all the bloatware from the machine because it will really effect performance.

if your going to install xp ur going to have to either get a USB floppy drive for the sata drivers or create ur own xp iso with the driver slipstreamed into the iso. To save you trouble install ubuntu or windows 7

i customized a 900 dollar hp. awesome. even with vista, i've had no problems. i can vouch for hp and dell myself.
