.45 or 9mm?
hey guys, I'm looking to purchase my first ha and I'm taking a long line graphsndgun in the next few weeks here, and I'm thinking along the lines of a springfield xd. they seem to hit that sweet spot in between inexpensive and reliable. my question is this: should I do a 45, or a 9 millimeter? I'm going to try both of them in the next few weeks at the range, but I want to hear your guys opinion first.
I'm sorry, was that your face?!
personally i prefer a .40. but out of your two choices i'd go with the .45.
Play, shoot, laugh, enjoy the game.
9mm.
I shoot Table Gypsies on sight!
I owned a few XD's they are nice guns... A .45 tac (5 inch model) and a service model XD9. Ironically I sold both and now own a Sig 229 and Glock 19.
9mm or .45 is going to be a never ending debate for which my little brother and I just argued over the phone about yesterday.
Jesus really?

Three things kill people when it comes to GSWs. Shot placement, cavitation, and fragmentation. Caliber isn't the biggest issue think about.
.45 is way more fun to shoot though... I think so at least. I've loved every .45 I've ever shot and been totally unimpressed with every 9mm I've ever shot. Not that some of the 9mm weren't good guns, but I just think the .45 is more fun to shoot things with.

Also might want to take into consideration the amount of different types of ammo that is available in your area. My friend has a hard time getting .40 where he lives because it is the most common type in that area.

Not sure about anyone else but in my home the cap limit does not apply just keep empty ten rounders sitting nearby and don't forget to eliminate opposing witnesses. My home my rules your bad. Crackheads dead go back to bed. Anyone know the maximum length of time required before I absolutely have to call the sheriff or is it legal to wait till morning?[quote="airsoftbum2006"][quote="Special_K"]Three things kill people when it comes to GSWs. My duty carry weapons are all .40 caliber.

Yea the 10rd mag cap sucks here. And since I'm a law abiding citizen like most other people on this board it puts a 9mm at a disadvantage to .45 in mag capacity.

hone3stly the BEST thing to do is to shoot both .45 and 9mm and go with what feels good to you. In the end it all depends on what you are comfortable with. I had a .40 and I got rid of it and went back to 9mm just because it feels more comfortable to me. that and 9mm is cheaper to shoot. but it re4ally boils down to what feels good to you!
