Welcome to SacAirsoft. You can go to http://www.airsoftextreme.com/ for all of your Airsoft needs. Theres one in Sacramento that has a great staff that are very helpful. Gear wise, you'll have to do your own research on what you think you'd like, because theres so many different options out there.

Howdy Rich, welcome to sacair.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.
You can find a great selection of military surplus clothing and gear at Action Military Surplus on Auburn Blvd., directly across the street from City Limits Showgirls (not that I know that with any accuracy, but that's what I heard on the internet  ).
I have always acted in self defense, occasionally pre-emptive self defense.

I'd recommend getting a standard AEG (automatic electric gun) first. Something by Classic Army (personal preference) or other big vendors. Airsoftextreme.com has a local store and the guys there will get you squared away.
Welcome to sacramento airsoft haha
