So basically i hadn't used this rifle in quite a while and decided to dust it off and shoot some cans well after about 20 shots it started slam firing. I stopped my can assassination and went in the house to see what the problem is. The sear seems to be ok a little wear definitely not enough to have it slip like this then i tried cocking it again and it shot 3 times then slam firing. But if I hold the trigger while cocking it, it will shoot fine every-time. I hold the trigger pull bolt back, then put it back forward, let go of trigger, then pull it and it shoots. Any idea what is wrong or what i can do don't really want to buy replacement parts as its simply a can shooter at this point.
If you have upgraded the spring you will need better sears or a zero trigger. IMO the jg bar-10 is not meant to stay stock for very long as its internals are not the best quality. It sounds like either the piston is wearing out where it meets the sear or the sear is worn. mine did the same thing after i upgraded the spring. You can open it up and rotate the piston which is a temporary fix but you will need to upgrade the rest of the internals very soon.

I have not upgraded the spring at all the spring may have been stretched it was at my buddys house and he said it was shooting low but other than that there is no upgrades in it.
Hmm. Well if it was used when you got it, then it has had a few rounds through it and is just getting worn out. You can get the laylax or Polar star sear sets for the gun but i would also recommend a new piston as the plastic one is not going to hold up at the lip. All sniper rifles in airsoft are just platform guns meaning they need to be upgraded or tweaked in order for them to be of any use. I hope I helped you out. If you have any more sniper questions feel free to PM me.
