TK Twist barrel?
Hey so i was wondering if anybody knows or has used a TK twist barrel? preferably the 509 mm length one? I currently have a 6.03 barrel in my m14, and was thinking of downgrading the spring to 330 fps and putting in a TK twist instead. would this be worth it and get better accuracy and/or range? or should i stick with the 03 and instead get an 01? I don't care about fps, just want accuracy and range

your barrel should be fine....a member one her told me to remember the "3 b's"....barrel, bucking, and bb's. you barrel is good enough, now check out the gaurder clear bucking and .25 bb.
I have heard that they achieve similar results, google tk twist barrel review, there are a few guides that can help you. I'll search for one later if you can't find a good one.

what is guarder clear bucking? i currently have madbull red bucking with the curved spacer in it. i use ksc perfect .25's. basically my predicament is either choosing a 6.01 tbb or a tk twist barrel.

There was a thread on here about this a little while ago, I believe you should be able to find it
everything is amazing, but everyone is an idiot
From what I have read on tk twist barrels.
I had a TK in my old M14... had great results around the 320-335 fps range. With that said, the slower your bb is moving at long distances the higher possibility of adverse effects by the slightest winds. Personally I prefer a 6.03 / 6.04 (preferably KM TN or prome) and higher fps (380-390) which will achieve similar or even better results than the TK hop-twist...
The TK twist barrels are amazing for guns shooting in the low 300 range. The Japanese designed it this way because of their 1J power limit on their guns. The grooves were cut out so that a bb traveling in the low 300's would float and not bounce around the barrel (wont' work as well for FPS's higher or lower). Another company not based in Japan should really jump on this concept and adapt it for guns shooting at ~400FPS. That is if TK didn't already patent the hell out of it
that leads to another question. has anybody seen these new falcon barrels on ehobby? It looks like it is rifled like a tk, except instead of twisting it goes straight down the barrel. idk what fps it handles, but they make one specifically for the we m14 which shoots upwards of 400 fps (they also have ones for aeg's as well). I might try one of these to see if it does work with higher fps

Look its a bird its a plane, no its just my broken aeg flying all over the place.
The twist barrel doesn't make the BB twist.

i meant the grooves don't twist. not the bb. like instead of the grooves spiraling, they just go straight down. and yeah i saw that video. the guy needed to give more info though (what barrel he had before, how much use was on the tk, etc)

All those do is allow air to flow around the BB to stabilize the BBs flight. It is the same principle as a LRB. However they do not work well in AEGs, they are famous in classic guns.

At longer distances outdoors, the BB's that you use have more of a say on your accuracy, precision, and range.

If you are shooting 400 on .20's, stick with a tightbore, the twist barrels are designed to help those shooting in the low 300's match up against "better" guns. My marui Sopmod for example, costs a couple hundred to upgrade to a reliable 400fps, so a TK twist barrel is a good economical option for the extra range.
