First episode is tonight! I'm really excited about this one, I have no dought that it will be awesome. I'm hoping they show the real brutality of the fighting in the PTO and don't water anything down too much with PC crap.

I really wanted to watch them. My dad wants to upgrade to HBO just so he can watch the series. I second that.

for 20 million dollars per episode you bet they're putting some hell of an effort into it

only 10$ to upgrade. HBO HD Starz HD and all the regular hbo and starz channels.

Oh.... it's good. Not going to say anything to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but it's good. And it's going to be every bit as brutal as I hoped.

The first episode was awesome. Everything matched the quality of the Band of Brothers series. I am glad that Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks decided to make another great miniseries.

based on the book "Helmet For My Pillow" or was it "Helmet For A Pillow", anyway, had the book as a kid, that one and Guadalcanal Diary were two of many that inspired me of going into the Corps, and old man Johnson who was a Raider on 'canal. Yeah, pretty good so far, didn't dwell too much on the homefront part, kept it simple not sappy.

i watched it on a friend's tv, but i heard mentioned a scene involving a marine and a katana wielding imperial marine, not to spoil anything intentionally, but it was not in the episode i watched, are there different versions of said episode, because it seemed like a few things i had heard about were omitted, but i wasnt sure... can anyone help?

I loved that they included The Battle of Salvo Island. That part was awesome. When the cruiser blew up it great. I think this is going to be better then BOB.
