I don't know.. I think it's worse then a shotgun. It's more of a "punch" then the "push" feeling of a shotgun if that makes any sence. The only 30-06s I have are either semi auto or have a rubber pad on the stock so I can't really compare there... but it does beat you up to shoot it for a while. It's not horible, but you will feel it if you shoot more then a few rounds.

I agree ryan, I think its more like a 30-06. It is actually very close to a .308 shooting 150 grain rounds, but when you think in those terms most .308s have a rubber butt. Mosins have the steel butt plate, so I would recommend a limb saver if you plan on shooting for more than 15 shots.

awesome guys thanks i think id rather be safe than sorry and invest in a rubber butt pad for the thing, it may take away from the standard look but like i said better safe than sorry :P

okaayy guys, i got my 1944 Izhevsk mosin nagant and i had to take apart the entire gun and rub it down with wood cleaner and WD-40, i have to now go thru the internals and barrel and clean the hell out of those, but out of all that i am very pleased <thanks TDS Guns> this gun is almost 6 feet tall with the bayonet. i also heard that ishevsk m44 are "rare" dunno if thats true

We have m44 and m91 m91 is more accurate and reliable from my experience
