The search function doesnt really seperate out what your looking for, so i thought i would ask here. Would a type a cylinder be better than a type b cylinder for a 509mm barrel length. The type a is non ported and the tyoe b has the ports at the very end of the cylinder that cut out the end of the cylinder.
At 500mm+ ported cylinders are not needed. I ran a psg1 length innerbarrel In my old RPK with a bore up kit, to help get a bit more airflow down the barrel.

okay, thank you! i remember seeing somewhere that someone had placed the cylinder with the slits at the end vs the un ported one, and had gotton better compression due to air getting into the cylinder
Honestly you don't need all of that stuff. I run stock cylinders on all my stuff. I have spent tons of money over the years on stuff like that, and I have come to the conclusion that 50% of the upgrade parts are worthless, regardless who makes it. Run the gun with it and with out it, and you will see what I mean.

My m16 came with a type 2 cylinder though, and id like to upgrade to a tbb to compliment my guarder bucking.
