So I was thinking about getting the Airsoft Gi PWS Diablo. I've heard a lot about the performance but has anyone ever owned a G4 gun and know about the reliability or if they have solid internals? Also how would it compare to like a Classic Army CQB gun? Any info is appreciated.
Both my friends have owned a G4 and they are great guns. They shoot really well, are extremely durable, and my friend just opened up the gearbox and it had some outstanding internals (plus the shell looked great quality too). Only problem ever had was one of my friend's G4's RIS came loose because it wasn't quite the right fit for the body. But it was an extremely long RIS on a different version. So the diablo should be fine

I bought a g4 silent death for my lady, I love the damn thing.
Yeah It's the G&G base. Im not savy as far as working on airsoft guns so any advice on what I should upgrade/replace in the gun? I plan on replacing the barrel but I don't know what else usually needs to be replaced on these guns.

I am not really a fan of the G4 series. They are just G&G Combat Machines with a few external features tacked on. And the Combat Machines just don't have very good internals compared to other guns in their price range. Here is a great review of their internals: http://www.airsoftgiforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=10605

they still are a good deal....
Im not sure how G&G are now. A few years ago I would have bought a ICS over them. They were awefull guns. Like I said they may have changed.
i have one of the first combat machines, the ones with the marine corps emblem, it only got to around 270 with .25's so i put a 110 spring in with a metal sring guide then i put in a GP 160 motor and it shoots fairly well, but i kind of wish i had gotten a KWA

Not a fan of the internals or the externals of the replicas. Would rather buy a clone with XYT gears. G&Gs CM/G4 series stock can't be modded all that much to operate super well. Just my opinion of it though. Ive managed to do much more with a stock JG than a stock CM. Only thing the CM or G4s have are externals and quality control.
