Pollock Pines Camping Advice?

Mar 22, 2010 10:58pm
I'm looking to do some bugging out in the woods around Pollock Pines coming spring break, and I have a few places in mind, but none of them really work out. They don't have a nearby water source and I can't remember how to get to them.

google maps the area on satellite view, find water and plan based off the terrain maps. Works well.

Check out the area of of Park Woods. The road dead ends there and there is a gate and a bunch of rocks. The gate is open during the summer, but I dought it will be in April. I've always wanted to explore back there a little but never really had the chance... I don't think UPS would like me off roading the brown truck during lunch.

You might try going out the Mormon-Emigrant Trail from Sly Park, then take one of the side roads going south. There's a pretty good network of logging roads in the area.
