I'd say the war on terrorism certainly falls into the catagory of fighting for the American people, considering it was terrorists that have openly attacked us since the late 70's, the most recent attack being probably the most famous, the 9/11/01 attack.

what I ment by that is if the citizens do not make the sacrifice they will never have a conscious understanding of what has really been gained. Its like being givin 100k....or earning it.....you will have more respect for the money that you earned...becasue your blood paid the ballance
